Entry Yard

Description by Gary Gygax
This place is narrow and paved. The Corporal of the Watch is here. He is dressed in plate mail and carries a shield, with a sword and dagger at his waist. Beside him is a man in robes a Scribe who records the name of each person entering or leaves, and flanking each man is another Men-at-Arms in plate with pole arms.

Description by Godric McKellan
The Entry Yard is an area no wider than 20’ from East to West. The Yard is long from North to South however, and runs the length of a long spacious stable, and an enclosed building (the warehouse) with no windows but rather two wide heavy double doors, which are locked shut with a pad-lock. Atop the both buildings, is a defensive crenellated parapet wall, behind which walk two men-at-arms with crossbows. Stable boys, and warehouse lackeys stand nearby cleaning the stables and tending to the mounts. Eager to step forward and assist incoming travelers with a place for their wares, horses, mules, and directions to The Hogshead Inn & Tavern.

The Entry Yard terminates in a dead end to the North at the foot of a massive fortress wall, however, to the South, it proceeds Westward around the corner of the warehouse further into the outer bailey.
